Prospero Teaching is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join our client primary school in Midhurst.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to support young learners in their early years of education. As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to help children engage with lessons, develop confidence, and thrive in a positive and nurturing classroom environment.
Responsibilities
* Providing targeted support to Year 2 pupils to help them access learning activities
* Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
* Assisting with planned lessons and small group work
* Supporting emotional well-being and behaviour management to maintain a calm learning space
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies
* Adapting resources to meet the diverse needs of pupils
* Promoting an inclusive and supportive environment where every child can succeed
* Following safeguarding procedures to ensure pupil safety and welfare
What We're Looking For
* We'd love to hear from you if you: Have experience working with KS1 children, ideally in a teaching assistant or learning support role
* Hold a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance, Childcare, or a related area (desirable but not essential)
* Are patient, nurturing, and passionate about supporting children's learning and development
* Are committed to inclusion and helping all children reach their potential
* Communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team
* Can adapt learning activities to suit individual needs
The Details
* Location: Midhurst
* Position: Year 2 Teaching Assistant
* Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (full-time)
* Start Date: ASAP
* Rate of Pay: From £13.96 per hour
Eligibility Criteria
* Right to work in the UK
* Enhanced DBS check (registered with the update service or willingness to apply)
* References available upon request
* Up-to-date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete it)
