Living Wage Due to the nature of hospitality, we are open 7 days per week including holidays so workdays will be flexible according to rotas between 8am – 5pm, Monday to Sunday. A typical housekeeping shift is 5 hours.

42 Acres is a growing Regenerative Estate, Nature Reserve and Wellbeing Retreat Centre. Our accommodation, experiences and events all share one vision: to promote living in harmony with nature, self and others. Currently operating in the UK, we are home to a stunning farmhouse estate alongside an experimental, organic working farm in Somerset. We have a clear philosophy, focused on biodiversity, inner work, and collaboration, in service of human and planetary wellbeing.
It is a place where food is grown and foraged onsite, and its suppliers are almost exclusively local and ethical. With a strong philosophy to deliver unforgettable experiences for every guest, 42 Acres runs almost exclusively on renewable energy and much of the almost 200-acre setting is dedicated to nature restoration and wildlife.
How you would make an impact
This role is within the House function of the operation. The House team plays a key role in our delivery of amazing guest experiences; responding to the needs of the 42 Acres community (guests and staff). Together with the wider team, they support the 42 Acres ecosystem in making sure our guests have a wonderfully memorable experience.
Key accountabilities include:
* Responsible for delivering an exceptional housekeeping service ensuring that each space is set up to a high standard ready for guest use
* Liaising with bookings team to ensure that all requirements are met for guest bookings
* Working to maintain our positive environmental impact
* Working as part of the team to ensure the presentation and maintenance of our guest spaces ( including all accommodation, the Yurt, Campsite, Boat, Woodland kitchen, Mandala barn, Lawn tent, Fire pits, Woodland sauna, Boat house and any additional spaces that we introduce as a guest space) meets and exceeds our standard
* Participating in guest services and front of house activities when required such as setting up guest spaces for use, pot washing, kitchen deep cleans and maintaining the tea and coffee stations
* Ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to
* Adhering to health and safety regulations

What would support both you & us:
* Previous housekeeping experience (essential) – ideally in the luxury hospitality market (desirable)
* Practical, hands on and willingness to jump in and help where necessary
* Excellent attention to detail
* Able to work to tight deadlines and move with speed and efficiency
* Confident and able to communicate clearly with guests and colleagues
* Interest in hospitality and customer service including eco hospitality
* Happy to be outside and helping on the land when needed
* The ability to work flexible hours / days and weekends
* The legal right to work in the UK
* A fluent grasp of written and spoken English
* Ability to travel to work in a remote rural location
