We provide bespoke, community-based support to individuals with complex needs; including a mental health diagnosis, neurodiversity, or those who may have endured trauma. The people we support may have spent an extended period in hospital or another setting, therefore we utilise a person-centred approach; empowering individuals to become as independent as possible within their own homes About the Role Full-time | Brighton | Meaningful, Person‑Centred Support Are you empathetic, patient, and passionate about empowering women with mental health needs to live safely and independently? If so, we’d love to hear from you. We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our female‑only accommodation service in Brighton. This is a rewarding, hands‑on role supporting women on their journey towards confidence, stability, and independence. The role is based on a rolling rota to include evening and weekend shifts. Sleep in minimum 1 shift per week paid additionally at £80 per shift Sponsorship is not available with this role Job Opportunity About the Service Our accommodation service provides safe, supportive housing for women experiencing mental health challenges. Many of our clients have faced trauma, instability, or long periods in hospital. Through a person‑centred and psychologically informed approach, we help each woman rebuild her life on her own terms. ✨ What You’ll Be Doing You will play a key role in promoting wellbeing and safety, offering both emotional and practical support. Your day-to-day work may include: Building trusting, therapeutic relationships through patience and empathy. Supporting women with daily living skills, social inclusion, and confidence‑building. Creating and reviewing person‑centred support plans and dynamic risk assessments. Encouraging independence and positive decision‑making. Using de‑escalation and trauma‑informed approaches when faced with challenging situations. Liaising with mental health teams, community services, and wider support networks. Ensuring safety, safeguarding, and adherence to organisational and national policies. Working flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including occasional hours outside the normal pattern. Monthly workshops with our Clinical Team as well as access to our library of previous sessions Essential Skills What We’re Looking For This role is ideal for someone who is: Calm, compassionate, and able to build supportive relationships with vulnerable women. Emotionally resilient and patient, with a genuine commitment to mental health recovery. Skilled at supporting people through crisis, challenge, and change. Confident in using therapeutic de‑escalation and crisis‑intervention techniques. Able to encourage positive participation and empowerment. Competent with Microsoft Office and comfortable keeping accurate records. Desirable but not essential: Experience in mental health, neurodiversity, trauma‑informed work, community-based services, or supported accommodation.
