As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to planning processes across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Agricultural Planner and Catching Support to join our team based in Brackley, Northamptonshire. Purpose of the role: As an Agricultural Planner and Catching Support you will ensure the smooth operation of the Avara Agricultural Planning and catching function by understanding each of the planning and catching areas. To analyse performance trends and utilise them in future decision making. To work collaboratively with all areas of the business to achieve the best result for all and build positive working relationships with key stakeholders. Working Hours: Monday to Friday 06.00 -17.00 (Flexibility during this time period) Your key responsibilities as an Agricultural Planner and Catching Support will include: Planning: Have in depth knowledge and understand all planning disciplines, Breeder Planning, Hatchery Planning, Broiler Planning and Live Haul Planning to provide support as required. To ensure that plans are kept up to date with the latest information To develop strong working relationships with Avara’s farming partners and communicate information/plans accordingly. To communicate daily and weekly plans to all key stakeholders To manage plans over a number of weeks in order to forecast how performance is changing and understand what needs to be done in order to meet business requirements To liaise and maintain strong working relationships with other departments including Transport, Hatcheries, Breeder and Broiler teams To monitor performance and to highlight to the management team any anomalies or significant drops in performance. To assist in the development of agricultural planning systems in support of Avara’s planning process and to manage changes as part of a wider IT project. To develop & maintain performance metrics which demonstrate strong understanding and control over plan performance. To ensure that our agricultural processes are not planned to break legislation, permit restrictions or our assurance scheme standards e.g. stocking densities. To assist in any ancillary tasks to help improve Avara’s operations. To support the rest of the Ag Planning Dept as necessary. Catching Support: Visit Catching teams on farms to observe/audit compliance. Create reports using iAuditor to report and support investigation for non-compliance for our customers. Recognising situations that impact supply chain, communicating with our operating sites professionally providing accurate updates and the follow up feedback. Collating catching performance data and provide KPI’s for our supply chain. Championing Health and Safety, welfare and biosecurity whilst visiting Avara and associated sites. Reacting and attending out of hours catching requirements on farms. Dynamic Communication with all people during visits on farms is essential to achieve positive outcomes and maintain good working relationships. Creating and updating farm layout maps that essential for planning. Will require handling live animals on farm that require support.
