You’ll work collaboratively and effectively with Specialist Delivery Teams, external contractors and internal colleagues across the North to achieve excellent standards of Facilities Management. This is a varied and busy role, across the York Area. You’ll lead a team across the portfolio to ensure the highest standards for our visitors. You’ll create a great place for your team, coaching and developing our people. You’ll drive a strong performance, and lead the annual review process. You’ll be proactive in maximising volunteer involvement in Facilities across the portfolio.You will lead your team to oversee and deliver planned, preventative and reactive maintenance and project manage delegated works. You’ll do this by ensuring we can deliver in accordance with our conservation principles. You’ll be accountable for our operational risk management, reporting on our compliance, and delivering training and support to the wider team to develop their plans and risk management. By modelling our values you’ll ensuring you and your team are delivering great presentation, cleanliness of our facilities and are supporting the wider team. You’ll take the lead on environmental management across the portfolio, ensuring we are continuing to improve across energy efficiency, waste management, meter reading and pollution prevention. You’ll be accountable for delegated budgets and enable your team to deliver through their budgets ensuring good cost control and sustainable procurement. Here in the York Area, we're seeking a new Facilities Manager to lead the Facilities team, across a diverse range of incredible places: Treasurer’s House, Goddards, Nunnington Hall, Beningbrough and Rievaulx Terrace.The York Area Portfolio is made up of a complex mixture of historic buildings and facilities. You’ll be responsible for managing an efficient, effective and flexible facilities management service across the York Area, ensuring the highest standards are delivered, either through your team or appointed contractors. You’ll lead your team of staff and volunteers whilst working collaboratively with the wider portfolio team to ensure our facilities are kept in the best condition to deliver our strategy for our visitors. You’ll be responsible for our buildings maintenance, contracts, equipment and compliance systems to ensure the safe, efficient and cost effective operation. You’ll work collaboratively with regional colleagues, to protect the historic environment whilst ensuring we continue to improve our climate resilience. Your contractual place of work will be at Treasurer’s House, in York City Centre with frequent travel across the portfolio.
