About The Role

Location: Faringdon, Oxfordshire

Days and Hours: 36.75 hours per week (15 shifts over a 4-5 week rolling rota available - number of shifts to be confirmed, equating to an average of 36.75 hours per week). Typical shift patterns are days, 7.45am-8pm and nights, 7.45pm-8am.

Pay: £16.16 per hour, for all shifts

Following successful completion of probation: £16.65 per hour, for all shifts

1 years’ service: £17.17 per hour, for all shifts

Driver required? Applicants need their own car to get to work due to the location of the client's home.

Driving Clients Car? There is not currently a need to drive the client's car. There is a possibility in the future there may be a need to drive the Client's automatic Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV).

Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes (if licence held) to attend training and supervision. Supervision can be held virtually.

Essential Experience: Complex medical needs and supporting a person through waking nights

Desirable: Experience working with adults with complex trauma, PEG feeding and an interest in therapy

Pets: 1 dog but it lives within the family home on the same site (adjacent to the client)

Accommodation (while on duty): Fully adapted family home.

About the Role: Our client is a 25-year-old who thrives in an environment full of activity and engagement. He communicates by a variety of movements and facial expressions. Living in a fully adapted home with his family, he requires 2:1 support for all his daily needs (he cannot be left unattended). This is a unique opportunity to be part of a close-knit team that works collaboratively to enhance his quality of life through meaningful interaction, therapeutic activities, and structured routines.

Your Impact:


* Engage in Daily Activities: Help plan and participate in activities that stimulate and entertain, ensuring every day is filled with moments of joy.
* Support and Care: Provide essential care, including preparing and giving all food and drinks for our client, personal care and medication administration, while ensuring his safety and wellbeing.
* Collaborate with Professionals: Work with therapists and the family to implement physio, OT, hydrotherapy and other therapeutic programs, making each session interactive and enjoyable.
* Be a Positive Influence: Create a lively atmosphere that encourages the client’s participation in all aspects of his routine.

* Experience in Care: You should have experience with complex medical needs. Experience with adults with trauma or an interest in therapy is a bonus.
* Creativity and Motivation: We need individuals who are imaginative and proactive in creating a fun, engaging environment.
* Team Player: You’ll work closely with another support worker and the family, so being a co-operative and communicative team member is essential.
* Reliability and Compassion: This role requires someone who is patient, trustworthy, and genuinely cares about making a positive impact.

* NVQ Level 3 in care (or equivalent) is essential.
* Confident in working in a home environment, sensitive to the needs of the client and his family.
* A full driving license is required due to the location and potential future need to drive the client’s adapted vehicle.

It would be great to receive your application, if you have the following skills/behaviours:

* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) or experience in care is essential
* Experience of caring for someone with physical and learning disabilities.
* Experience of working with family members and clients is desirable.
* Experience of working in a special education facility is desirable.
* Experience of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and language therapy is preferable.
* Training in managing epilepsy is preferable, but training can be provided.
* Must be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available and is designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.
* Confident and comfortable working in the client’s own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of him and his family
* Can demonstrate commitment and passion for meeting our client's needs
* Can demonstrate empathy and understanding in an appropriate and professional manner
* A team player who understands the importance of feedback to qualified members of the team
* Can develop productive and professional relationships with others
* Actively creates an inclusive environment respecting diversity
* Good organisational skills who can adhere to standards and quality requirements
* Friendly, approachable with a proactive and encouraging approach
* Water confident - to support with hydrotherapy
* Punctual, patient, reliable and trustworthy

* Good verbal & written communication skills and IT literate
* Able to think creatively and to use initiative
* Willingness to work flexibly and cover shifts, sometimes at short notice
* A full driving licence (endorsements to be disclosed)

About Us

ILS Case Management is the UK's leading independent nationwide Case Management company.

When a person’s life has been changed by injury, we address the practicalities. We work with children and adults who have had moderate or catastrophic, complex injuries. We assess individual needs and are able to provide a comprehensive Case Management and Rehabilitation Service designed to maximise independence. Our Case Managers work closely with our Clients, and we carry out all the recruitment processes on behalf of our Clients; and will support you, from your initial telephone interview right through to arranging employer interviews, trial shifts and placement.

If you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client. However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role. Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.
