Responsibilities
Job Description
* Own key design work packages across several NPI programmes and Integrated Product Teams.
* Introduce mods and amendments in support of in-service requests, ongoing production and repair operations.
* With project managers, contribute to the estimation (scope, time, cost) of assigned work packages.
* Manage requirements and specifications.
* Identify opportunities to improve system' and component' attributes (i.e. efficiency, noise, weight, stress, manufacturability, cost).
* Generate and release designs with supporting analyses (DfM & DfA, cost, preliminary stress & dynamics).
* Manage risk assessments (incl. DFMEA / PFMEA).
* Support development and V&V activities (incl. rig and flight test).
* Support plant' objectives through daily interaction with Operations.
* Lead the continuous improvement of design processes and workflows (CAD, CAE, PLM). Identify and document design best practices.
* Lead and mentor other staff and trainees.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Mechanical engineering degree, aerospace engineering degree or equivalent.
* Extensive experience in mechanical design, incl. integration of large assemblies and configuration management.
* Demonstrable experience of design for manufacture and assembly.
* Existing signatory status for CAD and drawings release (ASME Y14.5 GD&T).
* Existing signatory status for concessions and technical variances approval.
* Expert knowledge of Catia, Creo or NX.
Desired
* Ability to Lead Integrated Product Teams.
* Experience of design and CAE analysis of rotating machinery.
* Integration of electro-mechanical machines and actuators.
* Experience of PTC Windchill.
