The Role:
Are you a hands-on, reliable individual who takes pride in keeping spaces safe, clean, and welcoming? We’re looking for a dedicated Caretaker to join our team and help maintain our facilities to the highest standard.
What you’ll do:
This role involves being a welcoming and supportive presence for contractors, staff, and visitors, while also taking on a range of practical responsibilities.
You may be required to work some weekends and evenings, and occasionally step in for the Operations Officer when needed. Key duties include maintaining the cleanliness, security, and upkeep of the premises, restocking welfare supplies, and promoting recycling efforts. You'll carry out minor repairs and general maintenance, monitor essential systems such as water temperatures, fire safety equipment, heating, lighting, traffic management, and security.
The role also includes overseeing sports facilities, arranging pitch markings, reporting faults to the term contractor, driving and towing work vehicles (including 4WD and electric utility vehicles), and assisting with room setups for meetings or events.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who brings a proactive approach and a positive, can-do attitude to their work. You should be confident working independently, using your initiative to get things done. Basic DIY skills and a good understanding of health and safety are important, and while previous experience in a similar role would be helpful, it’s not essential—we’re more interested in your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
