Key Qualifications
* Exceptional candidate with 10+ years across all asset classes (especially Rates and Credit) in valuation, risk management, model validation or trading at a top tier investment bank.
* MSc and/or PhD in a technical area such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance or a related field.
* Direct involvement in the development or validation of valuation models/methodologies including model valuation adjustments, fair value adjustments, Prudent Valuation Adjustments, IPV methodologies, etc.
* Experience interacting with regulators during deep dives or audits of valuation controls and models.
* Strong financial product knowledge and a track record of collaborating with Traders and Front Office Quantitative Analysts.
* Strong analytical problem solving, ability to see the big picture and explain concepts to senior management and technical experts.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, team player, collaborative.
* Supports knowledge sharing within the team through coaching and training.
* Knowledge of VBA, Python, R, C++ and other relevant languages; hands‑on experience building AI agents.
Purpose of the role
Responsible for the independent review, challenge and validation of valuation models and methodologies, including Fair Value Adjustments (FVAs), Prudent Valuation Adjustments (PVAs) and Independent Price Verification (IPV) methodologies.
Accountabilities
* Drive consistency across asset classes in validity and appropriateness of models, methodologies and documentation.
* Support Finance teams in identifying their inventory of quantitative and qualitative models and processes.
* Enhance models and methodologies to ensure ongoing compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and best market practices.
* Enhance valuation control standards and keep them aligned with regulatory requirements and model governance standards.
* Engage with model owners (VC and Front Office Quants teams) to challenge and enhance valuation models/methodologies and documentation.
* Perform role of Subject Matter Expert in model validation of qualitative valuation models, collaborate with Model Risk Management and assist in validation of quantitative models.
* Collaborate with Model Risk Management to influence, support and enhance the firm’s model governance framework.
* Design and implement tools and processes for ongoing transparent monitoring of appropriateness of models and methodologies.
* Support responses to regulatory feedback and develop solutions or remediations.
