Field Sales Engineer – North West (living close to both Manchester and Liverpool – within c30 minute driving distance) c£44k-£48k basic plus bonus (£10k OTE), car and other benefits We are a Manchester based engineering services company offering the repair of rotating equipment (i.e. motors, pumps, fans, gearboxes, generators etc) to a wide range of customers in the following market sectors - industrial & manufacturing, automotive, pharmaceutical, energy & power, food & beverage, chemical, wind and marine. We employ 30 people on our site in two workshops (electrical and mechanical) and are a wholly owned subsidiary of a larger NW based group employing 100 people. All repairs are carried out in-house by our own qualified engineers. We have invested significantly in designing and installing industry-leading testing capabilities to guarantee fully certified repairs. In addition we have both ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certifications. This is a key role in our sales team, is field based and your focus will be on regular visits to customer sites to ensure strong relationships are developed and maximised. Reporting to the Managing Director, key accountabilities include: * Developing existing accounts and winning new business – c70/30 split, primarily throughout Greater Manchester and Merseyside, but also including some customer accounts in Cumbria and Yorkshire * Building strong relationships through regular on-site visits to customers across all the industry sectors mentioned above * Developing multiple contacts within each of our customers to ensure we maximise business development opportunities * Working closely with our internal sales team * Preparing regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders * Ensuring our CRM database is regularly updated * Serving as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams * Resolving any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with any complaints to maintain trust and loyalty Applicants should have the following characteristics / experience: * Can demonstrate a proven record of consistent sales growth in industrial / engineering products or services * Clear understanding of how to sell engineering services capability and identify product sales opportunities * Must be a first class relationship builder with the ability to build trust and establish credibility quickly with engineers, workshop managers and senior management * Good problem solver who can provide solutions that meet and exceed customers’ objectives * Good knowledge of one or more of the industry sectors mentioned above would be advantageous * Focused on selling solutions that deliver ‘value’, and are not based on price * Great at building relationships at all levels, both externally and internally * Persuasive, organised, persistent, follows up, determined, manages time effectively
