Assistant Transport Manager – Dunstable
Newstaff Employment is hiring an Assistant Transport Manager in Dunstable on behalf of a successful and growing logistics company. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in fleet or transport operations who is ready to take the next step in their career and progress into a full Transport Manager role.
Location: Dunstable
Salary: £36, per annum + benefits
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm or 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (flexible)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities
1. Support the Transport Manager with the daily management of the company fleet.
2. Oversee and maintain vehicle compliance, servicing schedules, and driver documentation.
3. Manage and update IT transport systems and driver tablet devices.
4. Assist in route planning, scheduling, and logistics coordination.
5. Monitor fleet performance and help ensure operational efficiency.
6. Handle general administration and reporting as required.
7. Communicate effectively with drivers, managers, and customers to maintain smooth operations.
Essential Skills & Experience
8. Previous experience in transport or fleet management (assistant level or above).
9. Good understanding of transport operations and compliance.
10. CPC qualification desirable (or willingness to attain — full support provided).
11. Proficient in IT systems and software (transport software knowledge advantageous).
12. Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
13. Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
14. Full UK driving licence.
