Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic qualified Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive speech and language therapy service to children aged 4-11 within the school setting. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating children with a wide range of communication difficulties, collaborating with school staff including a team of teaching assistants on delivering speech interventions, and supporting parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
* Assessment & Intervention: Conduct assessments to identify children's speech, language, and communication needs. Develop and deliver tailored therapy programs, both on an individual and group basis.
* Case Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all assessments, interventions, and progress. Write reports for parents, teachers, and other professionals.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the Trusts Primary Director of SEND, class teachers, and teaching assistants to integrate therapeutic strategies into the daily curriculum. Collaborate with external professionals as needed.
* Training & Support: Provide training and guidance to school staff and parents on how to support children's communication development. This includes demonstrating therapy techniques and suggesting classroom strategies.
* Parental Engagement: Build strong, positive relationships with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of their child's progress and empowering them to support their child's communication skills at home.
* Professional Development: Stay current with the latest research and best practices in speech and language therapy. Participate in regular supervision (details to be agreed upon appointment) and continuing professional development activities.
This role is line managed by the Director of SEND.
This position is part time, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro –rata basis.

Essential Qualifications
* A recognized degree or postgraduate diploma in Speech and Language Therapy.
* Registration: Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience: Experience working within a primary school environment. Experience of managing others.
* Specialisation: Additional training or experience in specific areas such as Stammering, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or Selective Mutism.
