Job Description
Our client is a leading multinational electrical, mechanical, and fire protection contractor with a strong presence across Europe and North America. With a focus on delivering innovative and sustainable solutions, they specialize in sectors such as Data Centres, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, and Industrial projects. They are currently looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join them on an Airport in London.
You Will Be Responsible For:
* Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical systems, including HVAC, pipework, and associated plant, based on tender documents and project requirements.
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and scope documents to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and assess their suitability for inclusion in bids.
* Collaborate with design, engineering, and project teams to ensure all mechanical elements are properly scoped and costed.
* Prepare and present detailed breakdowns of estimates for internal reviews and client submissions.
* Maintain and update a cost database and library of rates, ensuring estimates reflect current market conditions.
* Participate in tender handovers and provide commercial and technical support during the pre-construction phase.
You will need:
* A qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
* 3-5 years experience in a similar role.
* Understanding methods of measurement and the concept of cost/valuation reconciliations.
* A strong analytical mindset.
* Experience working on an Airport is not necessary but advisable.
