Activities Coordinator. Dalton Court Care Home
Hourly Rate: £12.60
Hours: 30 per week
Shift Pattern: Typically between 8:30am – 5:00pm, including weekend work
Dalton Court Care Home, nestled in the heart of Cockermouth with breathtaking views of the Lake District fells, is a 60-bed home offering exceptional Nursing, Dementia, Palliative, and Respite care. We’re proud to provide a warm, supportive environment for both residents and staff.
We are currently seeking a passionate and creative Activities Coordinator to join our dedicated team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents by fostering engagement, joy, and a sense of community.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and Deliver Engaging Activities: Design and lead a variety of stimulating activities including music, arts and crafts, fitness sessions, gardening, and more.
Event Coordination: Organise special events such as birthday celebrations, themed parties, and visits from entertainers.
Resident Engagement: Build strong relationships with residents to understand their interests and tailor activities to their individual preferences.
Dementia-Friendly Programming: Provide sensory and cognitive stimulation activities for residents living with dementia.
Community Involvement: Arrange outings and excursions to enhance residents’ social experiences and connection with the local community.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Creative, enthusiastic, and highly organised
Compassionate and committed to enhancing the wellbeing of older adults
Experienced in working with elderly individuals or within a care setting (preferred)
Flexible and willing to support occasional events or outings outside of standard hours
