Job Description:
Corporate Energy Associate – London (5+ PQE, Counsel Level Considered)
A highly regarded international law firm’s London office is seeking an experienced corporate energy associate to join its market-leading team.
The group advises a broad spectrum of clients across the power, renewables and infrastructure sectors, regularly acting for sponsors, developers, utilities, institutional investors, and lenders on high-value and cross-border transactions.
The Role
* Advising on mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic investments in both renewable and conventional power projects.
* Supporting project development and financing transactions, often involving complex multi-jurisdictional structures.
* Working closely with project finance colleagues on matters that combine corporate and financing elements.
* Acting as lead associate on transactions, managing client relationships, supervising juniors, and working directly with partners on strategic mandates.
The Team
* Comprises a balanced mix of senior partners, experienced counsel, and high-calibre associates.
* Recognised for a collaborative and pragmatic culture, with a strong record of integrating corporate lawyers into cross-practice energy teams.
* Routinely acknowledged by independent legal directories for both transactional excellence and sector expertise in renewable energy and infrastructure.
Matters
* Advising on the acquisition of a portfolio of offshore wind projects in Europe by a major international energy investor.
* Acting for a consortium on the sale of a stake in a solar platform to a sovereign wealth fund.
* Advising a global energy developer on a joint venture for battery storage projects across the UK.
* Supporting an institutional investor on the acquisition and financing of a pipeline of onshore wind assets in the US and UK.
Candidate Profile
* 5+ years’ PQE (England & Wales or equivalent) with significant corporate/M&A experience in the energy or infrastructure sectors.
* Strong grounding in cross-border transactions; exposure to project finance elements advantageous but not essential.
* Confident in managing complex transactions, working directly with clients, and mentoring junior team members.
This position offers the chance to join an integrated, international platform with a deep sector focus and a clear route to senior progression.
