Role: Senior Project Quality Manager
Location: Remote with travel involved in different locations including Europe
Contract: 12 months initially

Randstad Sourceright is recruiting a Senior Project Quality Manager for Siemens Energy. The role, reporting to the Project Lead, involves crucial quality assurance responsibilities: managing external stakeholders (Clients and Representatives), engaging with Suppliers on quality issues, and collaborating internally across all organizational levels to meet established Quality Requirements
The Project Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring all projects meet both internal Siemens Energy and external Customer Quality requirements throughout the entire project lifecycle, from engineering and procurement through to manufacturing and final assembly. This role involves developing, managing, and maintaining all project quality documentation, coordinating inspections, managing compliance (including ATEX and PED), and acting as the primary Quality representative for the project.
Key Responsibilities
* Quality Planning & Documentation:
* Produce, manage, and revise Project Quality Plans (PQPs) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
* Ensure all Customer Quality Requirements, Siemens Energy Witness Hold Points, and Quality Record requirements are accurately documented and incorporated into controlling documents and ITPs.
* Manage the compilation of the Manufacturing Record Book (MRB) for final customer submission.
Compliance and Assurance:
* Ensure Design Intent is achieved and validated by working closely with Engineering to document and update Quality Requirements.
* Control and document compliance with ATEX requirements during equipment installation.
* Manage PED requirements, including pressure equipment categorization and conformity assessment, liaising with approval authorities as needed.
* Review work content to ensure all Special Processes (e.g., Welding, NDT, Painting, Lifting) are pre-approved, certified, validated, and properly recorded.
Supplier & Manufacturing Management:
* Review supplier documentation, including ITPs, and conduct Quality Reviews at supplier sites to ensure compliance.
* Request and review Supplier Inspection and Test Plans for supplied goods.
* Manage the attendance of Customer Representatives during manufacture, ensuring all Witness Hold Point sign-offs are documented.
Quality Control & Reporting:
* Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), validate corrections, and ensure Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and Corrective Actions are completed and documented for Lessons Learned.
* Attend internal and external meetings as the Siemens Energy Quality Representative.
* Provide regular Quality Status Reports to Project Management.
* Support Customer audits, inspections, and regulatory visits.
Stakeholder Coordination:
* Liaise with Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, and Projects to manage contract deliverables and flow-down of quality requirements.
Skills & Competencies
* Strong technical understanding of ATEX, PED, and ISO 9001 standards.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* Significant experience in managing Major New Build Projects within the Power Generation sector or comparable heavy industries.
* Practical, hands-on experience applying ATEX and PED requirements.
Desirable:
* HND or Degree in Engineering.
* Formal ATEX / PED training.
* Lead Auditor qualification.
* Experience interacting with Approved Bodies/Notified Bodies.
