Senior Air Quality Consultant
We offer a salary of up to £45,000 per annum dependent on experience, 1% benefit allowance, pension, 36 days annual leave including bank holidays - rising to 38 days after 3 years of service, life assurance, salary sacrifice schemes and more.
What will I be doing?
You will contribute to and manage a wide range of air quality and odour‑related projects, informed by diagnostic monitoring campaigns. Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing air quality and odour projects, including the collection and interpretation of environmental data from industrial, waste, and wastewater sector sites
2. Developing and implementing bespoke measurement strategies, including production of RAMS and subsequent project execution, with support from the Operations Manager
3. Liaising with clients, internal teams, site operators, and external consultants to ensure smooth project delivery
4. Processing, analysing, and reporting on a wide range of environmental and emissions datasets, including data validation and adjustment
5. Undertaking atmospheric dispersion modelling and impact assessments
6. Carrying out on‑site surveys, including monitoring equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
7. Supporting workstreams related to odour control system design, ventilation assessments, emissions monitoring, and occupational exposure surveys
8. Travelling within the UK and Ireland, with occasional European or international travel as required (including overnight stays)
What are the requirements?
Essential
9. Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience gained through professional practice.
10. Strong knowledge of UK air quality policy and regulatory frameworks (indoor and outdoor).
11. Practical experience with indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring and a broad range of sampling equipment.
12. Experience in data processing, interpretation, and reporting of emissions and ambient air quality results.
13. Proficiency in atmospheric dispersion modelling and impact assessment.
14. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
15. Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
16. Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
17. Must hold a valid driving licence for use in the UK.
18. Willingness to travel and work flexibly as required. Available to travel where necessary, as projects may be carried out in the UK and Ireland. A valid passport is also required.
Desirable
Knowledge of industrial processes including wastewater treatment works, anaerobic digestion, landfill, energy from waste, and power generation.
Experience or interest in occupational exposure monitoring (e.g. dust, bioaerosols, noise, or similar workplace environmental assessments).
