Your new company is a leading player in the downstream Oil & Gas sector, operating a network of Terminals, Depots, and industrial sites across the UK. With a strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational excellence, they are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to drive strategic leadership and effective execution of maintenance activities across our estate. An experienced Engineering Manager - EC&I is required to oversee all Engineering and Maintenance functions across Terminals, Depots, and other industrial sites in the Northern Region. The successful candidate will act as the Electrically Competent Duty Holder under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, ensuring legal compliance and industry best practice across all assets, systems, and facilities.
Your new role
Team Leadership: Manage Engineering Business Partners and Technicians, providing direct and dotted-line oversight.
Asset Management: Oversee the operation and maintenance of EC&I Control Systems across multiple sites.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure plant and equipment meet legal and industry standards, including LOLER and PSSR Regulations.
Engineering Systems: Lead the implementation and maintenance of a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for all assets.
Risk-Based Assessment (RBI): Define maintenance intervals and inspection schedules to optimise asset life and reliability.
Process & Safety Regulations: Apply legislative directives such as ATEX 95, DSEAR, COMAH Regulations, and Environmental Protection legislation.
Management of Change: Oversee engineering modifications, new installations, commissioning, and decommissioning projects.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Operational, HSE, and Leadership Teams, supporting audits, site acquisitions, and regulatory interventions.
Budget Management: Set and oversee engineering and maintenance budgets across all sites.What you'll need to succeed
Extensive Process Engineering experience in high-hazard industries.
Proven experience in Oil & Gas (preferably downstream).
Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical & Control Instrumentation Engineering.
Strong understanding of COMAH regulations and process safety principles.
Professional membership of an accredited Engineering or Management Institute.
Ability to assess and deliver training in engineering disciplines.What you'll get in return
