SEN Teaching Assistant Grade 3 £24,404 - £25,183 pro rata 32.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri 08.30-15.30 Term Time only 2 weeks Required as soon as possible, the contract is linked to pupil funding The Headteacher and Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, committed and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant who will play a key role in providing support for an identified child. The successful individual will support the Class Teacher in the teaching and welfare of the assigned individuals. We are looking for someone who: • Has experience in working with children with social and communication difficulties • Demonstrates excellent behaviour management skills • Is able to work as a part of a team, learning with and from other colleagues • Enjoys working independently and with initiative •Is able to work effectively with children either individually and in small groups to enable them to achieve their best • Is highly organised and has good time management skills • Is flexible, proactive and resourceful • Demonstrates good English and Mathematics skills (GCSE Grade C or equivalent) • Has a good knowledge of phonics • Has excellent communication skills, both oral and written • Understands confidentiality and safeguarding procedures The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. Closing date: 6th July 2025 at 12 noon Calculation of term time only plus two weeks’ pay Term time only plus two additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following: • Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus • Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus • Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD – 2 weeks; plus • Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave.
