We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant (Level 2) at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 32.50 (Monday – Friday 6.5 hours per day)
Working Weeks TTO: 39
Contract Type: Part Time, Fixed Term until 31st August 2027, Term Time Only

At Greenhill Primary School, we are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all our students. Our Special Needs Resource Base supports pupils with ASD and social and communication difficulties.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our Special Needs Resource Base team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support the learning, development, and well-being of pupils with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide targeted support to pupils with autism spectrum disorder;
2. Assist with implementing individualized learning activities.
3. Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development within the classroom and during other school activities;
4. Help with personal care and mobility needs where appropriate.
5. Liaise with teaching staff and parents to ensure consistent support.
6. Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and report concerns promptly.

8. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
9. Ability to follow instructions and adapt to individual pupil needs.

For the role, we ask that you have:
14. A relevant Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example, NVQ2 for Teaching Assistants experience.
15. Good numeracy/literacy skills.
16. Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age.
