An exciting opportunity has arisen for aSalaried GP to join the team at Northern Medical Centre. Applications arewelcomed from GPs at all stages of their career.

This post is well-suited to a GP whovalues collaborative working and is interested in modern models of generalpractice. You will contribute to developing innovative systems that improveaccess, safety, and continuity, while working in an environment designed tosupport sustainable workloads and professional satisfaction.


Main duties of the job

You will work as part of a supportive,multidisciplinary clinical team delivering high-quality, patient-centred careto a diverse population. The role combines clinical sessions with sharedresponsibility for triage, continuity of care, and clinical administration,supported by robust systems and a highly effective wider team includingpharmacists and administrative staff.


Job responsibilities

* Arange of face to face, telephone and triage sessions for patient contact, bothsame day and planned care where appropriate.
* Managepathology results for tests generated through patient contacts.
* Useand adhere to practice systems for excellent communication and handover with leadGP and other relevant MDT colleagues, including any clinicians working off-site.
* Support the triage process for all patient-leddemand.
* Contributeto clinical admin including evaluating, actioning and processing hospitalcorrespondence and results. This includes ordering appropriate tests andensuring safety netting and follow up. You will contact the patient to completetasks where this is required.
* Supportingother members of the MDT including pharmacists, paramedics, nurses, physicianassociate, healthcare assistants and administrators with clinical and processquestions as needed.
* Participatingin and being visible as part of the practice team, including attendance atclinical team meetings and whole team meetings.
* QIand audit projects, depending on need.
* Payattention to appropriate coding, note keeping and flagging of any system issuesas they arise.
* Acton safeguarding concerns with named leads where appropriate.
* Demonstrateyour commitment to high quality, safe care that supports clinical continuityfor those patients and crucial clinical circumstances where this is crucial.
* Takepart in learning events, audits, and discreet pieces of work where formallyagreed.
* Respectways of working that have been agreed among the clinical team.
* Committo understanding your role in practice systems and to flagging where there arelearning events so the system can improve.
* Committo learning new IT systems and innovations in use of IT in service of patientcare.
* Committo supporting continuity where this is clearly best for the patient.
* Bytaking responsibility and ensuring you follow through and complete tasks wherepossible (therefore avoiding unnecessary follow up or work by others).
* Discusscases with colleagues where appropriate with a commitment to learning fromexperience and sharing learning.
* Respectmultidisciplinary colleagues.
* Workacross organisational boundaries when this is in the interests of patient care.
* Keepup to date with new guidance.
* Your work willparticularly support continuity of care, safety and quality for complex orurgent cases:
* Youwill take responsibility for managing complexity and facilitating continuityofcare where appropriate.
* Informingother GPs about complex cases known to them.
* Displayyour clinical reasoning clearly in the records.


Qualifications

* GMC Registered.
* Qualified General Practitioner (MRCGP or equivalent).
* Currently on a performers list.
* GP trainer.
* Desire to become a GP trainer.
* LARC insertion Trained.


Experience

* Experience of working in UK General Practice.
* Experience of working with diverse and vulnerable groups, including use of interpreters.
* Experience of being the named GP for a list of patients or of providing continuity of care.
* Experience of GP admin including eg PIP forms.
* Experience using EMIS Web, Docman, Accurx, MS Teams.
* Experience of clinical triage.
* Clinical experience of 2+ years
* Experience of working with deprived populations.
* Delivery of clinical audit.
* QOF management.
* Experience of working in Islington/ NCL general practice.
* Experience of working in at-scale systems.
* Experience of safeguarding leadership/ desire to take this on.
* Supervision of other roles and staff members
