Our Hard FM teams ensure that the engineering infrastructure — electrical, mechanical, HVAC and critical systems — performs reliably every single day so clinical teams can focus on outstanding patient care.We are now recruiting talented engineers across multiple disciplines to join our expanding Estates and Facilities team at the Oxford Road Campus.What You'll Do:Depending on your role, you will contribute to the safe operation, maintenance and improvement of essential engineering systems across the hospital site. Typical duties may include:Carrying out planned preventative maintenance, statutory testing and reactive repairsSupporting the delivery of electrical, mechanical or HVAC services across clinical and non-clinical environmentsDiagnosing faults and completing repairs on complex plant, equipment, ventilation systems and controlsExecuting safe electrical isolations, controlled operations and maintenance proceduresUndertaking installation works, small projects and upgrades where requiredWorking with BMS, CAFM and permit-to-work systems to ensure compliance and accurate record-keepingEnsuring all engineering activity meets Sodexo and NHS Trust standards, including Health and Safety, infection control and HTM guidanceProviding technical support to colleagues, contractors and hospital staffParticipating in the on-call rota to support emergency response and site resilienceMaintaining a high-quality environment for patients, staff and visitors across a large and complex estateAcross all roles, you'll be part of a collaborative Hard FM team delivering safe, reliable and efficient building services that underpin critical healthcare delivery.What You Bring:Essential Skills and Experience:A recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in electrical, mechanical or HVAC engineeringStrong experience in maintenance, fault-finding and repair across relevant systemsAbility to interpret technical information, follow safe systems of work and complete accurate documentationGood communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clinicians, managers, contractors and peersConfidence working independently with the resilience to respond to emergency situationsSolid understanding of Health and Safety, including risk assessments and statutory complianceIT literacy and experience using digital systems (BMS, CAFM, handheld devices)Desirable Experience:Previous experience in an NHS or acute hospital environmentKnowledge of HTMs, HBNs and healthcare engineering standardsMulti-skilling across mechanical/electrical disciplinesExperience with emergency power systems, critical ventilation, fire alarms or medical building systemsRelevant additional certifications such as 18th Edition, F-Gas or Inspection and TestingWhat we offer:Working at Sodexo isn't just a job — it's a chance to make a difference every day.
