About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Engineering / Engineering Manager to oversee the engineering function at our Meal Solutions site, Cavaghan & Grey. This leadership role involves driving engineering excellence, managing capital projects, and leading a diverse engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering Leadership: Provide strong leadership to ensure high-quality, reliable engineering support across operations.
2. Project Management: Oversee engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely, within scope, and within budget delivery.
3. Capital Expenditure: Manage a multi-million CAPEX budget annually, prioritising resource allocation for engineering projects.
4. Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Develop and implement schedules to optimise equipment performance, minimise downtime, and ensure compliance.
5. Team Management: Lead a team of 5-6 direct reports and 46 indirect reports, focusing on talent development and skills alignment.

Key Skills
* Degree-qualified in engineering or equivalent experience, including service leavers.
* At least 2 years in engineering management, preferably in food manufacturing or regulated industries.
* Experience leading large engineering teams and motivating staff.
* Strong technical knowledge of plant operations, automation, and regulatory standards.
* Proven leadership, communication, and people management skills.
* Problem-solving ability to identify issues and implement solutions efficiently.
* Experience in food manufacturing, food safety, plant engineering, automation, or pharmaceutical sectors.
* BRC Certification or similar food safety standards.
