Job Description:
Overview: Kenton Black Finance is recruiting for a part-time Sales Ledger Clerk (20 hours/week) in Preston. The company employs around 400 staff, with a turnover of approximately £17 million, and has been operating for over 25 years. Responsibilities include processing payments, reconciling accounts, handling banking transactions, and providing administrative support. Benefits include pension and on-site parking.
Responsibilities:
* Process and record payments received daily.
* Handle cheques, foreign currency, and post-dated payments.
* Reconcile client bank accounts and process card payments.
* Manage outgoing mail and banking documentation.
* Provide administrative support, including data entry and record keeping.
* Process refunds and investigate unallocated balances.
* Respond to queries from external parties such as debt collection agencies.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
* Suggest process improvements to management.
Qualifications & Skills:
* At least 5 GCSEs including Maths and English.
* Minimum 1 year of administrative experience.
* At least 6 months of data entry experience.
* Excellent keyboarding skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
