Job Duties:
1. Provide support to special needs students in the classroom
2. Assist the teacher in implementing individual education plans
3. Help students with personal care needs, including feeding and toileting
4. Support students in their social and emotional development
5. Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Required Qualifications:
6. Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
7. Relevant experience working with special needs children
Experience:
Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
Knowledge and Skills:
8. Understanding of special educational needs and disabilities
9. Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
10. Strong organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
11. First Aid certification
12. Makaton or other communication training
Working Conditions:
13. Work in a classroom setting
14. Potential exposure to challenging behaviours
15. Regular interaction with special needs students
