We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing structural steel fabrication company based in the Southwest. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team.
This role will suit an Estimator with a solid background in the construction industry, ideally with exposure to structural steel projects. You'll be involved in a wide range of tenders, from industrial and commercial steelwork through to more complex multi-storey structures, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility over time.

The Role
Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for construction and structural steelwork projects
Review and analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
Carry out detailed material take-offs and cost breakdowns for labour, materials, and subcontractors
Liaise with clients, main contractors, engineers, and suppliers to obtain pricing and technical information
Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and alternative solutions
Attend pre- and post-tender meetings as required
Support handover to the contracts team and assist with procurement planningThe Ideal Candidate
Minimum of 3 years' previous experience in estimating within the construction industry
Experience with structural steelwork is highly desirable
Strong understanding of fabrication, erection processes, and associated costs
Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
Commercially aware with strong numerical and analytical skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skillsWhat's on Offer
