This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced children's registered nurse or registered midwife, with significant safeguarding children knowledge and experience to work strategically and operationally within the new London Borough of Hackney and City of London Multiagency Child Protection Teams (MACPTs) providing expert specialist health advice to support the child protection process of safeguarding vulnerable babies, children and young people who have experienced significant harm.
This post is available as a secondment.
The postholder will work collaboratively with Social Work, Police, Education and MASH health colleagues, to ensure safe and effective decision making at every point in the child safeguarding journey. The MACPT Health Lead will take lead and advise on cases being overseen by the MACPT and will facilitate access to other health agencies and practitioners. They will develop networks of support and work in partnership with the other MACPT members to create effective multi‑agency interventions and plans, based on a rigorous assessment of risk. The post holder will promote culturally competent, active anti‑racist, and trauma‑informed practice within the MACPT.
