About the role
This fixed term 9 month position (40.25 hours) covers maternity leave for a Multiskilled FM Operative at DEFRA – Sevington, Ashford, England, TN24 0LD. Hours: 4 on/4 off shift patterns, day & night shifts. Pay: £12.71 per hour. Free car parking, Sodexo rewards and benefits included.

Responsibilities
* Carry out cleaning and maintenance tasks to a high standard, both indoors and outdoors.
* Set up meeting rooms and hospitality areas in line with client needs.
* Provide friendly, helpful porter services and act as a first point of contact for visitors.
* Ensure all reactive tasks are completed within agreed timescales.
* Maintain tidy and well‑organised stores and equipment areas.
* Support the wider team with ad hoc duties, post handling, and furniture movement.
* Actively participate in training, meetings, and team activities.
* Uphold health and safety practices and company procedures at all times.
Qualifications
Essential:
* A team player willing to work both indoors and outdoors.
* Someone reliable, with a “can‑do” attitude.
* Ability to follow work standards and schedules.
Desirable:
* Previous facilities, maintenance, or cleaning experience.
