An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role includes overseeing credit-related activities such as managing risk, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based position at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team,
* Have strong financial understanding,
* Possess problem-solving skills,
* Be confident leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills, as the role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the main contact with Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims, and assisting in renewal negotiations,
* Organise and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management information on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports,
* Manage cash collection for all group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are efficient and well-policed,
* Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively,
* Handle credit applications and provision of PODs,
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Control credit limits,
* Manage litigation, insolvency practitioners, and pursue claims,
* Set and manage credit policies and credit notes,
* Conduct risk assessments for existing and new credit applicants,
* Maintain strong relationships across departments,
* Review sales Terms and Conditions before approval,
* Visit customers and sites as needed.
