My client are seeking dedicated and energetic individuals to join the back-of-house team in a busy hotel kitchen. As a Kitchen Assistant / General Assistant / Kitchen Porter, you will support the smooth running of daily food operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and service for hotel guests.
You’ll be working closely with chefs and front-of-house teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences across breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, events, and banqueting.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting chefs with basic food preparation
* Maintaining cleanliness across all kitchen areas to hotel hygiene standards
* Operating dishwashers and washing pots, pans, crockery, and utensils
* Assisting with buffet setups and kitchen-to-restaurant pass duties
* Unloading deliveries, checking stock, and rotating produce (FIFO)
* Ensuring correct storage of food and equipment
* Emptying bins, managing waste, and following recycling procedures
* Supporting events, banqueting, and busy service periods as require

* What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience in a hotel kitchen or fast-paced catering environment is desirable
* Strong work ethic and ability to handle pressure during busy periods
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Understanding of food hygiene & safety standards (Level 1 or 2 beneficial)
* Flexible availability — including mornings, evenings, weekends, or split shifts
* Reliable, punctual, and committed to high standards of cleanliness
