The Role:
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious IT Engineer to join an established and rapidly expanding proactive team providing IT solutions and services operating across all industries.
* Analytical fault finding on networks and systems including Servers, Switches, Firewalls & Routers
* Maintaining and developing monitoring & management systems used withing the business
* Troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure alerts (Both hardware failures & OS issues, low disk alerts, high CPU usage etc)
* Troubleshooting issues proactively within Hyper-V / VMWare & Citrix XenServer
* Troubleshooting and resolution of both on premise & cloud backup solutions. (Veeam, Azure, M365)
* Creating and maintaining accurate records of Infrastructure services and assets, including documentation
* Resolving technical escalations from 2nd Line Service Desk Engineers, often speaking directly with the customer (end user) and IT engineers to ensure they're resolved within agreed SLAs
* Implementing technical solutions to meet specification and changes, contributing to service improvement and systems management
* Working within a team and independently to find and implement technical improvements. Using trend analysis to identify re occurring incidents and implementing permanent resolutions
* Proactive maintenance and upkeep of systems (Patching, version updates, hotfixes, vulnerability management etc)
The Candidate:
It is pivotal that the candidate is a self-starter, has drive and can work on own initiative;
* A "customer first" mentality
* A positive "can do" attitude and approach
* Experience with RMM / monitoring solutions (PRTG, LogicMonitor, Connectwise Automate)
* Solid experience in 2nd line / Infrastructure support
* Technical experience or qualifications in Microsoft and related products desirable
* Experience of service desk environments, ideally in an MSP environment supporting excess of 200 customers
* Excellent customer service skills
* A desire to learn and expand knowledge to grow within a collaborative team
* Microsoft OS (client & server)
* Experience with Datacentre Technologies and Cloud Services (Backup, virtualisation, Storage, Networking)
* Experience maintaining & troubleshooting backup solutions. Good knowledge of Backup & DR processes & procedures
* Previous exposure to AV rollouts and monitoring (Bitdefender, Sophos, Defender for Endpoint / Server)
