Experience
Essential criteria
1. Minimum of 18-24 months of postgraduate experience across core areas - Neurology - Older Peoples Services - Orthopaedics
2. Experience of working within an NHS acute/rehab hospital
Qualifications
Essential criteria
3. BSc (Hons), MSc or Equivalent in Occupational Therapy
4. State Registered (HCPC)
Desirable criteria
5. Member of RCOT and RCOT SS Neurological Practice
Technical Skills Competencies
Essential criteria
6. Ability to assess, manage & treat neurological conditions and patients with complex multi pathologies at specialist level
7. Therapeutic moving & handling skills at specialist level
8. Ability to teach & supervise band 5 staff & assistants
9. Skills in goal setting & evaluating outcome measures
Knowledge
Essential criteria
10. Sound understanding of the pathology of neurological conditions
11. Basic understanding of Neuroplasticity and theoretical rationale behind neurotherapy interventions
12. Knowledge of the clinical pathway for neurological patients from acute care to long term management
13. Knowledge and understanding of the Discharge to Assess pathways
