Specialist Neurodevelopmental Paediatric Nurse

An experienced, motivated Registered Children's Nurse is invited to join the Harrow Community Paediatrics team. The role supports high‑quality, family‑centred care for children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD, autism, epilepsy, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and complex neurodisability.
Key responsibilities
* Act as a clinical liaison coordinating care with families, schools, GPs, therapists, hospitals and multi‑agency partners.
* Deliver baseline ADHD assessments, monitor vitals/side effects in line with NICE guidance, provide medication education and support nurse‑led titration.
* Participate in multidisciplinary teamwork, including MDT referral meetings, multi‑disciplinary assessments and transition to adult services.
* Support service development, audit, quality improvement and parent/carer education.
* Provide education to children and young people, families and staff; maintain mandatory training and engage in supervision and appraisal.
* Apply infection prevention and control measures consistently and manage workload effectively while maintaining NMC‑standard record keeping.
Qualifications and training
* Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Registered Children's Nurse.
* BSc Degree in Nursing or equivalent; postgraduate qualification at Masters level in a relevant field preferred.
* Evidence of continuing professional development in neurodevelopmental, paediatrics or CAMHS.
* Independent Non‑Medical Prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake.
Experience and knowledge
* Post‑registration experience working with children/young people with autism, ADHD or complex neurodevelopmental needs.
* Proficiency in diagnostic procedures and managing nurse‑led clinics.
* Good understanding of NICE guidance for autism and ADHD treatment and diagnostic pathways; knowledge of SEND guidance.
* Experience in safeguarding, case management and multi‑agency working.

* Salary: £55,524 to £62,652 a year (pro‑rata per annum, inc HCAS).
* Fixed‑term contract for 12 months.
