Role: Lecturer – Early Years – Internal

Location: Tresham College – Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough Campuses

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note – Salary is that of a Qualified Lecturer.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Early Years to join our Care, Childcare and Counselling department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

1. Teaching & Learning Delivery – Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across various programmes and levels, tailored to individual student needs.
2. Student Support & Progression – Guide students to achieve their potential, monitor progress, maintain records, and address concerns to ensure academic success.
3. Curriculum & Quality Development – Contribute to curriculum innovation, develop learning materials, and participate in internal quality assurance and self-assessment processes.
4. Professional Engagement & Administration – Attend meetings, complete administrative tasks, support marketing activities, and assist with student recruitment and interviews.
5. Compliance & Continuous Improvement – Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards, while maintaining up-to-date industry knowledge through CPD.

About you:

6. Qualifications & Education – Degree in Early Years discipline, GCSEs in English and Maths (A–C or equivalent), and Certificate in Education (or willingness to obtain).
7. Professional Experience & Knowledge – Vocational experience in Early Years settings, awareness of current developments in the field, and proven high performance in previous roles.
8. Equality, Diversity & Safeguarding – Demonstrated understanding and promotion of equality and diversity, safeguarding responsibilities, and maintaining appropriate boundaries with children and vulnerable adults.
9. Skills & Personal Attributes – Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to build positive relationships, contribute to teams, and support a high-quality learning environment.
10. Commitment & Flexibility – Dedication to continuous professional development, flexible working approach, ability to travel across sites, and awareness of health and safety requirements.

About Tresham College

Tresham College has three main sites in Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough, each with impressive modern buildings. Across our sites we offer a range of subjects including art & design, construction, engineering, motor vehicle, hairdressing and beauty therapy and more in support of our local communities.

About The Bedford College Group

The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
