Do you believe in unlocking the potential of every learner? A specialist secondary school in Southend is seeking a committed SEND Teacher to join their experienced team from September 2025.

This is a full-time, permanent role where you'll work with students with complex and diverse needs, delivering individualised, engaging lessons that support both academic and personal growth. You'll join a collaborative and supportive environment that values positive relationships, inclusive teaching, and a whole-child approach to education.

The school offers specialist resources, small class sizes, and a dedicated team of support staff. You'll benefit from a salary on the MPS/UPS scale, plus an SEN allowance - acknowledging the skills and commitment required in this important role.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet individual EHCP targets
* Adapt curriculum content to meet a range of learning and communication needs
* Foster a nurturing, respectful, and structured classroom environment
* Monitor and assess pupil progress using appropriate SEND frameworks
* Collaborate with SENCOs, therapists, and families to support holistic development
* Promote inclusion and emotional wellbeing in every lesson
* Contribute to a culture of safeguarding, high expectations, and mutual respect

Qualifications and Experience

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching students with SEND in a mainstream or specialist setting
* Strong understanding of EHCPs, SEMH, Autism, and/or PMLD
* Skilled in differentiation, sensory approaches, and behaviour strategies
* Positive, empathetic, and solution-focused mindset
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills
* A commitment to reflective practice and ongoing CPD
