An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right individual to join Birmingham Youth Justice Service as a Senior Youth Justice Worker. This role will involve being the responsible officer for children who are open to the Birmingham Youth Justice Service on either a statutory or non‑statutory basis. You will lead on assessments and plans to ensure all their risks and needs are fully understood, addressed and reduced to enable that child to move away from the justice system.

* Believe that behaviour is a form of communication and offending is symptomatic of their experiences.
* Is committed to hearing the voice of the child, their families/carers and their victims and bringing this into the centre of what we do.
* Wants to work with children to build on their strengths and promote a childhood removed from the justice system.
Required Skills and Experience
* Experience working with children and families in a social work setting.
* Strong assessment and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be speaking with a diverse range of individuals.
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
