An exciting opportunity for a Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist with expertise in paediatrics (optional adult and paediatric strabismus) at the University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. The role is based at the Royal Eye Infirmary, providing a comprehensive range of routine, urgent and specialist ophthalmic services and supporting the development of the paediatric sub-specialty services.
The post is a maternity cover post that may be extended for the right candidate.
Main Duties
* Triaging and outpatient clinics.
* Surgical operating.
* ROP screening and treatment.
Person Specification
Registration
* Fully registered with the GMC and on the GMC Specialist Register for surgical Ophthalmology.
* Within 6 months of expected CCT date at the time of interview.
Qualifications
* FRCOphth, MRCOphth or equivalent.
Experience
* Paediatric subspecialty training.
* ROP screening/treatment experience.
Disposition
* Commitment to CPD.
* Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal.
