A rare opportunity has arisen in our Virtual Ward as a band 5 staff nurse. Virtual Ward aims to provide safe and effective monitoring and a follow up service for patients who require ongoing care following acute hospital admissions. Virtual ward offer a safe alternative to traditional hospital care for patients meeting specific clinical criteria.

Role and responsibilities
The successful candidate will work alongside the existing members of the multidisciplinary team, Consultants, Nurses, community, DTU & Virtual ward Clinical Co Ordinator to provide a high standard of care to patients who require medications, procedures of investigations to either control or diagnose medical conditions.

There’s never been a more exciting time to join TeamQEH. We’re working on a once in a generation opportunity to build a new state-of-the-art hospital due to open in 2031/32 and we are also carrying out on one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we’ve ever undertaken.
Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper-based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined-up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.

What we are looking for
Virtual Ward are looking for someone who is passionate about patient care and who is dedicated to providing a high standard of care. The team have built a good rapport with many of their patients due to the nature of treatment they are able to see some of their patients on a regular basis due to the ongoing treatment programmes of the patients they care for.
