About the Role:
DPS Group are actively recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter for various municipal & industrial works throughout Northern Ireland and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carrying out mechanical installation and service of all types of pumps, blowers, screens, gearboxes and other mechanical assets in the water and wastewater industry
* Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical plant operations and be able to carry out routine planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance
* Clearly identify mechanical faults and identify how to resolve the fault, including identifying parts required
* Evidence that tasks you have been assigned are completed should be presented to the relevant person running the job
* For plant items that you are not familiar with, where practical you are expected to request O&M manuals and part list in advance of attending site to investigate fault or carryout planned service
* Mechanical and electrical supervision role for onsite works unless otherwise confirmed to you for specific jobs and are responsible for that job been completed in an efficient manner and in the time allocated, without any compromise on health, safety or quality
* Identifying what shared equipment (Confined Space equipment, Hiab, shared tools etc) you need for carrying out specific jobs and for organising to have this equipment left out for you to collect
* Completing daily reports where required, clearly identifying works that took place, materials used and time on site
Key Competencies and Skills:
* Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and manuals
* Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and fix mechanical issues
* Attention to Detail: Precision in performing maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance
* Teamwork: Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team with the support from the Service division in Mallow head office
Qualifications:
* NVQ/ City and Guilds qualifications in engineering/ welding/ fabrication would be desirable
* Similar relevant experience will be considered
* Full UK driving licence
* Site supervisor CSR/CSCS Gold Card would be desirable
* Willing to train junior employees/ apprentices
