Job Description
Escape Recruitment’s client in Dunfermline is looking for a Controls Engineer to join their engineering team. This role involves designing, developing, and supporting electrical/control systems, covering everything from new designs to maintaining existing systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Review customer technical requirements.
* Create and maintain drawings, specifications, test procedures, and technical documentation.
* Program and configure Siemens PLCs to meet project needs.
* Develop and test new designs and prototypes.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues in design, programming, and commissioning.
* Conduct hazard/risk assessments and system testing to ensure reliability.
* Work closely with mechanical and project engineers to integrate control systems.
* Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
* Stay up to date with emerging technologies in control systems and automation.
Skills & Experience
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field (equivalent experience also considered).
* Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming and configuration.
* Experience creating electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, fault finding, and circuit diagrams.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools.
* Understanding of industry standards (e.g., IEC, UL, ISO) and safety protocols.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Proficiency in MS Office.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with motion control systems and drives.
* Familiarity with hydro-mechanical systems.
* Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g., PROFIBUS, MODBUS).
* Hands-on experience in commissioning and site support.
