The Amazon Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team sets the strategic direction to provide resources, best practices, and safe environments to proactively manage the health and wellbeing of our workforce. Amazon is seeking an Onsite Medical Representative (OMR) to join the WHS team. The OMR will work closely with the WHS Site Manager, WHS Specialist, and occasionally the Injury Prevention Specialist (IPS). Responsibilities include attending weekly associate safety committee meetings, greeting new hires, and participating in weekly case management review meetings as necessary. The OMR will independently assess and administer first aid, offer guidance on occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses, refer care to outside medical providers as needed, and learn about OSHA regulations, risk, and analysis. The OMR will support safety operations and assist with all first aid needs as part of the onsite team.
Responsibilities
* Provide first aid support and refer to outside medical providers as necessary.
* Minimize the risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement with Amazon Associates (AAs).
* Maintain all records of care provided to AAs.
* Coordinate and maintain the workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs for AAs with work-related injuries.
* Provide daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports.
* Engage with AAs and leadership on the operations floor to coach on observed at-risk work habits.
* Maintain a clean working environment and ensure medical supply inventory is maintained.
* Participate in training and certification to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
* Maintain all first aid, CPR, and AED credentials.
* Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and/or weekends.
* Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols as needed.
* Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist with site emergency response.
Additional Job Elements
* Lift up to 49 pounds; frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
* Stand or walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
* Work in environments with varying noise levels and variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading areas).
* Continuously climb and descend stairs (sites with stairs).
Basic Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved ECC provider; AND one of the following:
* Current EMT or Paramedic Certification from the Department of Health or NREMT; OR
* In the last year, six months of job experience in the Military as a Combat Medic, Field Medic, Healthcare Specialist, Hospital Corpsman, or Aerospace Medical Service Technician; OR
* Current Active Athletic Trainer Certification by BOC or equivalent State Certification
Preferred Qualifications
* Certified to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Experience with an industrial wellness program
* Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomics, and coaching on body mechanics
* Demonstrated work experience with OSHA regulations and Workers’ Compensation
* Proficient in digital recordkeeping

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $46,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $71,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total package.
