Peaceful Place is a day centre for people of working age and older living with dementia.
Our aim is help our members live their best lives.
We are seeking a dedicated volunteer to support our weekly ballroom dancing sessions, held on Tuesday afternoons. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys dance, values social interaction, and wishes to help create an inclusive and enjoyable experience for our members.
Role Description
* Assisting members in following the instructor's directions for specific dances.
* Pairing with members to actively take part in the dancing sessions.
* Offering encouragement and support to ensure members feel confident and engaged.
* Promoting a friendly, safe, and welcoming atmosphere throughout the activity.
* Working under the supervision of a senior member of staff and the dance instructor.
Skills and Qualities
* Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* A willingness to take part in dancing (previous dance experience is helpful but not essential).
* Reliability and commitment to supporting the session regularly.
* You will need to kind and empathetic towards our members.
You will be supported in your role by both a senior member of staff and the dance instructor, who will provide guidance and direction throughout each session.
