Apply Save A modern and fully equipped small animal practice in South Wales is expanding its services to include Out-of-Hours (OOH) care and is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their OOH team.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly developing niche in the market, delivering exceptional care to clients overnight while supporting pets in need.
About the Practice:
1. Independently owned, open for 2 years, with a close-knit team
2. Fully equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy (to be purchased)
3. Day team of 3 vets and 5 nurses, expanding to a 4-vet OOH team
4. Modern facility designed for efficiency and excellent patient care
5. Strong focus on clinical excellence, teamwork, and professional development
The Role:
6. OOH roster: 19:00-08:30, 7 nights on / 14 nights off
7. Sole charge responsibilities supported by experienced RVNs
8. Flexible approach to case management and clinical decision-making
9. Opportunity to shape a growing service and influence practice development
10. Support for CPD (£2,000 allowance) and additional professional growth
Candidate Requirements:
11. Small animal experience required, ideally 2+ years UK practice
12. Newly qualified candidates will not be considered
13. Confident with emergency and critical care cases
14. Excellent communication skills and team-oriented approach
