What you will be doing:
You will work on our Infrastructure project and frameworks. Ideally, you will be based locally, although we are open to subsidizing relocation.
You will:
1. Create a ‘Knowingly Safe’ working environment. Ensure that the principles of CDM are applied and relevant legislation is complied with.
2. Ensure Highways England’s Imperatives ‘Safety, Customer and Delivery’ are delivered on time.
3. Embed a Culture.
4. Engage with the designer and stakeholders to ensure a safe, buildable, and timely design within the detailed design phase for efficient delivery.
5. Work with project leads, estimating, and commercial teams to prepare robust budget and Total of Prices submissions with evidence.
6. Collaborate with the commercial team to manage change.
7. Follow commercial processes in procurement activities to achieve best value.
8. Ensure all pre-commencement and regulatory requirements are met before work begins.
9. Plan and prepare for scheme delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
10. Implement all Temporary Works (TW) processes, understanding and designing TW requirements timely, and monitoring on-site.
11. Act as Utility Service Coordinator (if appointed), ensuring permit to work systems are followed.
12. Plan, prepare, and oversee site offices and compound setup.
13. Champion innovative technologies and techniques.
14. Manage risks and opportunities with the Risk Manager and project leads.
15. Investigate and close out incidents/accidents, implementing learnings.
16. Own the delivery and quality of work to standards.
17. Manage Construction Teams and Supply Chain partners to deliver within Budget, Programme, and Scope.
18. Ensure adequate resources are available.
19. Manage daily and weekly planning processes, engaging with the Project Planner and Performance Team.
20. Complete all internal and external reports.
21. Review team performance, providing encouragement and discipline.
22. Support stakeholder communication and management.
23. Contribute to community engagement, Employment & Skills, and innovations.
24. Promote the project and company through awards, lectures, articles, and visits.
25. Ensure teams are trained and compliant with procedures and legislation.
26. Maintain relationships with key suppliers.
27. Utilize procedures and systems like Viewpoint, Fieldview, CEMAR, Oracle, and Office.
About You:
* Promote a positive safety, quality, and FREDIE culture.
* Proven experience in managing teams and their development.
* Strong project management skills with a record of delivering to client expectations.
* Excellent communication skills with client and supply chain experience.
* Strong knowledge of CDM.
* Knowledge of NEC and commercial acumen.
* Leadership and delegation skills.
* Experience in Design and Build / ECI within infrastructure.
