We have GP vacancies at the West End Medical Centre, a Health Board Practice in Conwy County.
West End Medical Centre is situated in Colwyn Bay, with a list size of 18,400 patients. The practice focuses on delivering a social model of care and has a multi‑disciplinary team including GPs, nurses, physiotherapists, and pharmacists. The practice is also moving towards recruitment of other health care professionals such as advanced practice paramedics and physician associates.
Main duties of the job
In general, the post‑holder will undertake all normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
* Make yourself available for surgery consultations, telephone, video, and email consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, providing advice to other colleagues, and dealing with queries, paperwork, referrals and correspondence in a timely manner in accordance with an agreed practice timetable.
* Make professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems, including undifferentiated and undiagnosed issues, with due reference to best practice and evidence‑based guidelines.
* Screen patients for disease risk factors, early signs of illness and promote public health interventions.
* Admit or discharge patients to and from the active caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
* Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
* Collect data for audit purposes.

* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice / Certificate confirming eligibility for General Practice registration (CEGPR), or equivalent
* Included on a Medical Performers List or eligible
* Evidence of continuous professional development
Qualifications – Desirable
* MRCGP
* Academic excellence (prizes, merits, distinctions etc.)
Experience – Essential
* Experience in general practice and working in a multi‑disciplinary team
* Vocational GP training
Experience – Desirable
* Eligibility for minor surgery, obstetrics, family planning accreditation
Skills and knowledge – Essential
* Proven ability to handle a busy and varied primary care caseload and respond flexibly to workload fluctuations
* Ability to take independent clinical decisions when necessary and seek advice from senior doctors as appropriate
* Commitment to team approach and multi‑disciplinary working
* Effective counselling and communication skills
