Responsibilities:
1. Manage a small allocation of children and provide reflective supervision to the family support worker.
2. Carry out effective assessment, planning, and delivery of social work services to children and families, promoting life chances for children and young people under Walsall Council's responsibility.
3. Provide quality social work services to children in need and their families, complying with legal requirements, departmental policies, and procedures.
4. Practice social work responsibly within the legislative framework and council policies, under the supervision of the Team Manager.
5. Ensure all work is completed within the specified timescales, adhering to national and local policies.
6. Manage a varied workload, including challenging cases involving vulnerable children and families with complex issues.
7. Undertake safeguarding investigations, attend strategy meetings, case conferences, and reviews as required; perform the lead professional role if appropriate.
8. Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, colleagues, and other agencies to develop effective relationships.
9. Provide high-quality, timely assessments and reports for courts, child protection conferences, statutory reviews, and other forums as directed.
10. Complete life journey work.
11. Support newer staff members.
12. Assist the Manager in chairing meetings, conducting statutory visits, and maintaining accurate records.
