Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Plater to join our fabrication team, working on large-scale structural steel projects. The role involves marking out, assembling, and fitting structural steel components in accordance with engineering drawings and quality standards. Key Responsibilities * Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings * Marking out structural steel sections accurately * Assembling and fitting structural steel components (beams, columns, frames, etc.) * Tack welding components in preparation for full welding * Working with heavy steel sections using overhead cranes and lifting equipment * Ensuring work meets quality, safety, and dimensional tolerances * Maintaining a clean and safe working environment * Working independently or as part of a fabrication team to meet production targets Requirements & Experience * Proven experience as a Plater / Fabricator within the structural steel industry * Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings * Experience with heavy structural steel (not light fabrication) * Confident in marking out and assembling complex steelwork * Basic welding/tack welding experience preferred * Understanding of health & safety procedures in a fabrication environment Desirable ...
