About the role
Together for Children – Sunderland is looking to recruit a suitably experienced and skilled Team Manager to manage and support our Young Persons Team. The Young Persons Team is a specialist team that works specifically with young people who experience risk outside of the home, including those who are being criminally and sexually exploited (including county lines), experience peer‑to‑peer abuse and gang association. These risks and worries can impact young people’s emotional wellbeing and mental health and lead to alcohol and substance misuse, affecting school attendance and relationships within the family. The team works closely alongside partner agencies to safeguard and disrupt.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing and supervising an Assistant Team Manager and a small team of social workers with small caseloads. You will promote social workers to build meaningful relationships with young people, their families and professionals and be responsible for leading regular multi‑agency mapping exercises.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must be able to evidence a good understanding and knowledge of contextual safeguarding and relationship‑based practice and have the ability to encourage and support social workers to be creative in their practice, demonstrating tenacity and determination to effect positive change.
Requirements:
* Registered Social Worker with Social Work England
* Previous management experience
* Passionate about contextual safeguarding
Additional criteria: The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check. An online internet search of publicly available information may be conducted.
