Offer description

At East Midlands Railway (EMR), we are proud to be One Team. We are passionate about keeping people safe, delighting our customers and doing the right thing. With over 2,600 colleagues across our network, safety and security are at the heart of everything we do.

Ten times accredited as a Top Employer, we value our people and are dedicated to making sure that everybody feels empowered to bring their authentic self to work.

We are now looking for a Crime and Digital Evidence Manager to play a vital role in protecting our people, passengers and assets.

About the Role

This is a key position responsible for overseeing EMR’s crime and evidential reporting framework. You will proactively gather, analyse and disseminate crime data, trends and intelligence, while ensuring our CCTV and Body Worn Video (BWV) systems are robust, compliant and used effectively to deter crime, improve safety and capture high-quality evidence.

You will act as EMR’s Subject Matter Expert for CCTV, BWV and evidential matters, providing professional guidance, driving continuous improvement and ensuring we meet our legal obligations under the Data Protection Act and standards set by the Biometrics and Surveillance Camera Commissioner’s Office.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

· Leading the development, management and continuous improvement of EMR’s CCTV and BWV systems, policies and processes

· Ensuring full compliance with data protection legislation and surveillance standards

· Collaborating closely with internal teams including Assets & Facilities, Control and Stations, as well as external partners such as British Transport Police

· Proactively identifying crime patterns and trends through data analysis and CCTV/BWV reviews to support investigations

· Producing accurate and meaningful crime reporting, statistics and KPI analysis for stakeholders at all levels

· Auditing CCTV/BWV systems and processes to ensure equipment functionality and procedural compliance

· Supporting GDPR-related data access requests, maintaining accurate registers and ensuring proportionate, lawful responses

· Managing evidential case workloads, triaging requests and overseeing the timely retrieval and download of CCTV/BWV footage

· Leading and developing a small team of analysts and evidence co-ordinators

· Designing and delivering training relating to CCTV, BWV and evidential processes

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a proactive, analytical and highly organised professional with strong experience in evidential systems, crime data analysis or security operations. You’ll have a sound understanding of data protection legislation and surveillance standards, alongside the ability to interpret complex data and present meaningful insights to senior stakeholders.

Strong stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the confidence to act as a subject matter expert across the business. You’ll be comfortable managing competing priorities, leading a small team and maintaining high standards of accuracy, professionalism and customer service.

Experience working with CCTV systems, evidence handling, investigative support or within a regulated environment would be highly advantageous.

Why Join EMR?

At EMR, you’ll be part of an organisation committed to safety, integrity and continuous improvement. You’ll have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in protecting our railway, supporting investigations and shaping how we use technology and data to deter crime.

If you are passionate about safety, driven by data and motivated to lead positive change, we would love to hear from you

As well as a competitive salary, we’ll also offer you:

1. Excellent Railway Pension scheme
2. Free Standard Class travel on East Midlands Railway and our partnering Train Operating companies
3. Friends and Family discounted Tickets on the EMR Network
4. 75% discount on National Travel (inc partner and dependants)
5. Various training opportunities
6. …and many more!

Ready to take on this exciting opportunity? Submit your online application form and upload your CV today. As we use a blind screening process, please ensure your CV does not include any personal details such as your name or contact information.
