Role Description
We are looking for a Distribution Operative to join our team in Bolton, working on a rotating shift pattern (06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00). The key purpose of the role is to assist with all aspects of the warehouse and despatch.
Responsibilities
• Pick, assemble, pack and despatch all orders as required.
* Complete any written information in line with procedures.
* Stock counting as required.
* To contribute to produce quality work to defined standards.
* To assist in the completion of all tasks as requested by management.
* To work in a safe manner with due regard to Health and Safety rules and regulations
Task include:
* Handball of on average 1000 cases of product into shipping containers.
* Stacking product weighing 7kg from floor level up to 2.4metres.
* Packing & lifting commode chairs weighing 23kg
* Using a pedestrian pallet truck to move up to 100 pallets of goods per shift through the warehouse covering a distance of 12000m per shift.
* Position the pallets on a stretch wrap machine, operate the machine and place the pallets in a designated area for storage.
* Order picking. Lifting cases (average weight 7kg) from picking locations and restacking onto pallets. This also involves bending & stretching.
* Using a pedestrian pallet truck move pallets weighing up to 750kg from the back to the front of shipping containers.
* Assist in unloading commode chairs (42 kg each) from shipping containers and stack onto pallets.
